Work closely with city staff and the City Manager to better utilize our tax dollars relating to infrastructure. Cross utilizing staff from different departments to achieve our unified goals. I will concentrate on utilizing our employee base to its full potential.
Examine federal funds that were rejected on the state level, consider applying directly to the Federal Government for these grants related to infrastructure projects.
I will continue to work with city staff to remove the Fire Assessment Tax, and to find the necessary revenue elsewhere in the General Fund.
Review our options in reopening the marina back to full working condition. As Ward 1 commissioner I would prioritize the reopening of our historic marina to be the operating marina it once was.
It is clear that spending at city hall needs to be addressed. We bring in a large amount of money in our budget every year, however that is always undercut by our excessive expenses. I will strive to reduce spending and pursue balanced and profitable budgets for the citizens of my Ward. I would like to work with city staff to study other surrounding areas, in an effort to reduce city spending.
